Taking photo tours on Android: Fotoura

Fotoura is an tour guide app for viewing and taking photo tours. These tours can be either viewed on your phone or taken in the real world.

Fotoura contains a choice of Tours - some of which are galleries of photos taken by a photographer, or Geo Tours, which have specific locations you can actually visit stop by stop, with the help of Fotoura as a Tour Guide.

These Geo Tours also invite you to take photos at each of the locations and upload your photos to the Fotoura site where they will be published, showing the locations where you took the images.

Some of the tours are photography competitions, which challenge you to take a photo at each tour stop and upload it to Fotoura for a chance to win a prize. If you use your phone camera you can upload your photos from the app itself, or if you use a separate camera you can upload your photos via the Fotoura website.

Fotoura Launch version
At the moment, our focus is on supporting the launch of the London Street Photography Festival, which runs from the 1st to the 31st July. From August onwards we are dedicated to improving the range of features of the app and launch the next range of tours.

The next version of Fotoura
The next version will allow you to create or record your own tours on your phone and will give you the ability to publish & share them with your friends or other Fotoura users.

We've got loads of new tours in the pipeline, from photography lessons to country walks, from bike rides to recipes. There are also a lot more exhibition tours being developed so you'll be able to browse exhibitions from the comfort of your phone.
