Official trailer of Sony Android Tablet S1 and S2
Sony unveiled its first two Android tablets at a press event in Tokyo, announcing its intention to bring the devices to market in the autumn of 2011.
The Sony tablets, codenamed S1 and S2, will run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and have both Wi-Fi and WAN (3G/4G) compatibility. The more conventional S1 has a 9.4-inch display, making it only slightly smaller than Apple's iPad 2. Its off-center of gravity design realizes stability and ease of grip as well as a sense of stability and lightness, offering comfortable use for hours.
S2 has two 5.5-inch displays that can be folded for easy portability. In contrast to existing tablets, its unprecedented dual screen presentation and usability allows its displays to be combined and used as a large screen or for different functions such as playing video on one screen while showing control buttons on the other.
